Dietary management of patients in need of increased glutamine & antioxidants due to oxidative stress in surgery or in chronic inflammatory diseases.
Supplementary nutrition 2-3 sachets/day (20-30 g glutamine), ≥5 days.
Not suitable whenever enteral nutrition is not permitted eg, in acute GI bleeding, ileus & shock. Use w/ caution in severe organ failure w/ impaired metabolism & severe forms of malassimilation. Not suitable for patients w/ congenital inability to metabolise nutrients contained in Glutamine Plus.
Not suitable as sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for childn <10 yr. Not recommended for tube feeding.
